  • He made the first ford.
  • Ford built one of the first internal combustion engine powered automobiles and named it Ford.
  • Although Ford was not the first to build a self-propelled vechile with a gasoline engine, he was, however, one of several automotive pioneers who helped this country become a nation of motorists.
  • He made the first asembly line after Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. ( It was his masterpiece.)
  • He was an inventor and was awarded 161 U.S. patents for his ford models.

  • His cars were lighter than all competitors by far weighing only 500 pounds.
  • The car's wheels were actually bicycle tires.
  • Ford's first car had a basic design consisting of a small wooden box with a single seat.
  • The Henry Ford Company started in November 1901.

Henry Ford was William and Mary Ford's 1st child of six.
He grew up on a prosperous farm.
In 1891, Ford became an engineer with the Edison Illuminating Company in Detroit.
Henry Ford was born on a farm just outside of Dearborn, Michigan. He attended the local public schools as well as a private grammar school.
Ford gave his family his company before he got sick.
His wife, Clara Bryant, had grown up on a farm not far from Ford's.
November 6, 1893, she gave birth to their only child, Edsel Bryant.













What else should you include about your person?
Built and drove race cars early in his career to demonstrate that his engineering designs produced reliable vehicles.
He adopted a policy that took over his workers lives' both at home and at work.
Owned a controversial newspaper, The Dearborn Independent, that published anti-Jewish articles which offended many and tarnished his image.
Ford was devastated when his mother died in 1876. His father expected him to eventually take over the family farm but Henry despised farm work. He told his father, "I never had any particular love for the farm—it was the mother on the farm I loved."
Ford left most of his vast wealth to the Ford Foundation but arranged for his family to control the company permanently.

Ford was made chief engineer at the main Detroit Edison Company plant with responsibility for maintaining electric service in the city 24 hours a day.
